Violin head model

Baltazar Dankwart Vilnius · 17th century

The model was developed from the head of an instrument attributed to Baltazar Dankwart — a Vilnius luthier active in the seventeenth century, whose instruments were ranked alongside the finest Italian ones. The instrument was made available for tomographic examination, so that the sculpted form of its head is preserved as a digital model.

This head does not yet have a completed comparative analysis and is presented as a study model, without confirmation of its geometric accuracy.
